I’m JP, an experienced software engineer who builds and maintains reliable backend systems that drive key business objectives. During my time at Heroku, I’ve contributed to a range of initiatives—from bringing new products to market and improving enterprise onboarding to addressing security issues and enhancing internal tools. My focus is always on practical, high-impact solutions, ensuring that systems remain stable and performant even under heavy demand or unforeseen challenges.
Background
I started my career in 2017, developing ground segment software for the SAOCOM satellite mission at Ascentio Technologies S.A. In this role, I learned the importance of performance, testing, and stability in mission-critical settings.
After that, I spent nearly four years at hobbyDB, a startup where I handled both front-end and back-end tasks. This experience taught me to adapt quickly, support rapid growth, and deliver new features in a fast-paced environment—all while maintaining scalability and a positive user experience.
At Heroku, I’ve built on these foundations by playing a key role in launching new products like Heroku Integration and collaborating on building the next-generation Heroku platform, Fir. Additionally, I’ve mentored engineers, contributed to operational excellence, and led engineering efforts in various areas, ensuring that our technical work aligns closely with real-world business goals.
I hold a Computer Science degree from Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (similar to a BSc, GPA 9.06/10.00) and am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder (GPA 4.00). This academic background, combined with my industry experience, helps me tackle complex problems with both theoretical insight and practical expertise.
